Pelvic Floor Prep for Labor and Recovery

Our evidence-based course helps you prepare your pelvic floor for birth and postpartum recovery with empowering information and simple, actionable steps that you can start taking at home. 

Upon finishing this course you should expect to feel confident in your understanding of: 

  • What your pelvic floor is and how it’s impacted by birth
  • What you can do prior to and during birth to improve outcomes
  • How you can practice pushing prior to birth
  • Ways to push to reduce stress on your pelvic floor
  • What you can do prior to and during birth to reduce the likelihood and severity of perineal tearing 
  • How to adapt this information in the case of a c-section birth 
  • Why pelvic floor relaxation is important for labor and how you can practice relaxation on your own at home 
  • Discussion topics to voice with your medical team in preparation for birth
  • Appropriate expectations for your bladder, bowel and sexual health postpartum 
  • Timelines and realistic expectations for safely returning to exercise postpartum 
  • Indications that you may need personalized help postpartum and where you can find it

Class will be 2 hours long and offered in the LIVE VIRTUAL format. Cost is $75 or we will bill insurance when in network. 

Bio:
Dr. Rebecca Maidansky, PT, DPT earned her doctorate in physical therapy at Temple University and has over 10,000 hours of clinical experience working as a pelvic floor physical therapist. She is the owner of Lady Bird Physical Therapy, a perinatal specialty clinic in Austin, TX where she works with folks locally as well as all over the world.
