Low cost, easy access lactation care
Breastfeeding Success is in-network with all major insurers. Families with in-network coverage will have low or no expense for services. We also accept self pay clients and have a financial assistance policy.
What insurance do you accept?
We bill directly to Aetna, Ascension SmartHealth, Baylor Scott & White Health Plan, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, HealthSmart, Humana, MultiPlan, Tricare, and United Healthcare.
LACTATION CARE IS A COVERED INSURANCE BENEFIT as a recognized part of preventative care, under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). This means most insurers make it possible for families to get lactation care at low or no out-of-pocket cost. Patients are advised to verify coverage with their plan provider prior to their visit or before taking one of our prenatal or postpartum classes.
How Benefits & Billing Works
- Your insurer will send you an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) letter that shows Breastfeeding Success services. This is not a bill for you. No action is required when you get your EOB, it is simply for your records.
- Patients are responsible for lactation care costs only when a health plan does not cover preventative care. This is a rare instance that may leave patients responsible for a very small copay or coinsurance payment.
- If you owe a payment for lactation care, you will get an easily understood bill directly from Breastfeeding Success. If the billed amount is $400 or more above the good faith estimate, you may be eligible to dispute the bill.

What if you are not in-network with my insurance?
You can still file for insurance reimbursement for lactation services. We will collect a fee at the time of service, then provide a Superbill you can file with your insurance.
What if my insurance denies the claim?
Breastfeeding Success has a team of billing specialists that are familiar with the ACA and are experts in billing requirements. We will be working on your behalf to appeal denied claims and may also reach out to you for additional information if needed. Please know that our goal is to take care of our patients and not burden you with out-of-pocket costs. We are always here to answer your questions.
What if I receive a bill?
Sometimes Breastfeeding Success simply needs updated insurance information from you. If that is the case, you may receive a statement with a note to contact us. Once we hear from you we will work on your behalf to get the services covered.
You may also receive an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from your insurance provider. The EOB received from your health plan is not a bill from us. No action is required when you get your EOB, it is simply for your records.
